AFCON 2019: Miya joins Cranes camp in Abu Dhabi

Croatian based offensive midfielder Farouk Miya is the latest player to join the Uganda Cranes camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Miya joined the Cranes at the Sheikh Zayat stadium, Cricket complex on Wednesday and was part of the gym session in morning.

He also took part in the evening drills later in the day.

Miya joins Ethiopian based midfielder Kirizestom Ntambi who joined the Cranes camp on Tuesday and brings the players’ tally to 17.

11 more players are expected to link up with the team between 2nd -7th June with USA based Mike Azira the last one to report.

The 11 are, Salim Jamal, William Kizito Luwagga, Abdul Lumala, Alexis Bakka, Allan Kateregga, Nicolas Wadada, Emmanuel Okwi, Robert Odongkara, Ronald Mukiibi, Charles Lukwago and Mike Azira.

The team under the tutelage of Frenchman Sebastien Desabre will play two friendly matches before being trimmed to the required 23 ahead of the African Cup of Nations.

Uganda is pitted in Group A alongside hosts Egypt, neighbors DR Congo and Zimbabwe.
