The International Challenge Badminton championship will officially kick off on Thursday, 24th February to Sunday 26th of the same month at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium.
According to Simon Mugabi the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Badminton Association says the competition will attract more players from various countries
“The competition has now limit to participants and so we expect more to take part in the tournament. The competition will help improve the points for players and participating countries.”
The winners, runners up and semifinalists will share a Prize money of $15000. The winners also get 4000 points.
Players will lock horns in the Men’s singles, ladies singles, Doubles and Mixed doubles.
Over 39 countries are to take part in the competition, these include Australia, Italy, Scotland, USA, Canada, Ukraine, Belgium, Slovakia, Egypt, South Africa, Algeria, Nigeria and Mauritius.
