Malawi FA is set to appoint Spanish coach Jordi Condom as their head coach at the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Condom is currently in advanced talks with the Malawi Football Association to take over the National team head coaching role.
Malawi secured a place to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations after beating Uganda 1-0 at home in the final group game of qualification.
The Malawi Flames are currently under the stewardship of former defender Meke Mwase who is expected to work hand in hand with Condom.
Condom began his coaching career working as a youth coach for Barcelona in 2002 and has also previously served at Palamos, Eupen, Roeselare and Al Arabi.
He is currently at Belgian topflight side RFC Seraing.
Meanwhile, Malawi are in group B of the 2021 Continental showpiece alongside Senegal, Zimbabwe and Guinea.
They will home their campaign against Guinea on 10th January before facing off with Zimbabwe three days later. Malawi will play Senegal in their final group game on 18th January.
For starters, this will only be third time that Malawi will be featuring at the Africa Cup of Nations after the in 1984 and 2010 editions.
