CRICKET : Uganda U19 Girls to face off with Tanzania in Bilateral Series

Uganda Cricket Association will host Tanzania U19 Girls for a bilateral series.

The event will give young girls an opportunity to showcase they talent as both nations prepare for the qualifiers of the first edition of the U19 Girls Cricket World Cup.

Franklin Najjumba the Women’s Development Officer UCA confirmed the development on Thursday

“We were unable to host the Africa U19 tournament in December due to reasons beyond our control. We mutually agreed to have the bilateral series in January. Teams like Tanzania have already confirmed their participation.”

The event will give our young girls an opportunity to be exposed to the international Cricket at an early stage.” She stated.

The bilateral series will take place from January 13th to 17th, 2020 and the games will be played from Entebbe and Kyambogo Cricket Ovals. Hosts Uganda will be allowed to have two teams and all the games will be played on the T20 format.

Isaac Kakande and Yusuf Nanga who were in charge of the high performance camp organized for the girls in preparation for the African tournament before it was canceled will handle the two Ugandan sides.

The visitors are expected to touchdown in Uganda on January 11th and will reside at Nob View Hotel in Ntinda.
