KCCA FC and Express played out a one-all draw in the long waited Uganda Premier League game at Lugogo.

Prior to the encounter, KCCA needed nothing but victory to close in on the table leaders who lost their game on Friday 3-1 to URA.

KCCA only closed the gap from five to four points as we hit the closing stages of the season.

The game saw the home side reduced to 10 men after Musa Ramathan was sent off in the 44th minute.

Mustafa Kizza gave KCCA the lead in the 27th minute from the penalty mark after Isa Lumu fouled Sadat Anaku in the forbidden area.

Frank “Machete” Kalanda drew the game level in the similar fashion right at the stroke of halftime.

Kalanda sent substitute goalkeeper Ali Mwirusi the wrong way to register his ninth goal of the season.

The buildup to the penalty saw Eric Kambale disposses Charles Lukwago before Musa Ramathan blocked Doka Mweru’s effort with a hand.

Lukwago was stretchered off injured while Musa was subsequently sent off by referee Mashood Ssali.

KCCA brought on Julius Poloto and Muzamir Mutyaba in the second period, kept Express on the back foot but couldn’t find a winner.

Express are now 11th on the table with 28 points, six clear of the drop zone.

KCCA will play Police in their next game while Express will host URA at Wankulukuku in a game that will be played behind closed doors on Tuesday.
