Watambala, Aheebwa in as McKinstry trims Cranes squad for South Sudan double header

Uganda Cranes head coach Jonathan McKinstry has named the 7 local based players who will join 20 foreign based players for South Sudan double header.

KCCA FC custodian Charles Lukwago, URA FC captain Shafik Kagimu, Vipers left back Disan Galiwango, URA defender Patrick Mbowa, Vipers SC attacking midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala and Brian Aheebwa also from Vipers.

The seven players have been added to the squad after a week of assessment from the national technical team

Portugal based Alex Kakuba will miss for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers double header against neighbours South Sudan due to illness.

Uganda Cranes will face South Sudan on 14th November at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende before traveling to Nairobi to play against the same opponent in Nairobi Kenya.
