Wadri on the score sheet as Bandari humble Gor Mahia

Gor Mahia started their title defense in a 2-1 defeat to Bandari FC at Mbaraki Sports Club Stadium on Saturday 8th December.

At the stroke of halftime, former Vipers SC and Ugandan William Wadri rose highest to head the hosts into the lead to send the fans into a bouncing frenzy.

Gor Mahia came back strong in the second period looking to level matters but couldn’t breakdown a resilient Bandari defence in the opening stages.

In the 52nd minute, Bernard Mwalala’s charged doubled their lead through David Kingatua’s brilliant tap in. Gor Mahia however continued to press for a lifeline but struggled to make the most out of their chances.

In the final 10 minutes of the game, Nicholas Kipkirui who was making his debut found a consolation for the visitors but it was not enough for his side.
