URA FC unveil squad for the 2017/18 season.

Today URA has today officially unveiled their squad to be registered for the 2017/18 season. among these are new and old players who renewed their contracts with the club. They have also also shifted their U17 partnership from from St Juliana S. S to Mulusa Academy of Luwero.

Among the unveiled is City Yangon FC striker Joseph Mpande who has joined the club on short term 3 months loan deal and youngster Stephen Mpoza who has been promoted from the U17s. URA have also renewed contracts of some of their senior players like Hudu Mulikyi, Saidi Kyeyune, Allan Munaba, Julius Ntambi, Samuel Ssekitto, Julius Ntambi, Peter Lwasa and Ronald Kigongo.

Nakayenga Bridget has been named the Communications and Marketing manager and Okabu Sam as her assistant.

Speaking to the press today morning Kizza James club chairman echoed the Club’s new strategy and ambitions for the new season. He said,

“This season we are targeting making a strong fan base, competing both for both Uganda cup and the league and we are also targeting on increasing on the number of players on the national team. “

Coach Ibrahim Kirya who joined the club midway last season after the sacking of Kefa Kisala also reiterates that URA are aiming to be among the contenders ahead of the new season. He asserted,

“I am very sure that the squad we have this season will compete for tittles and we are very much prepared for It , we just need to win our games that will see us through. “

  • Midfielder Denis Kamanzi from SC Villa on Six months short term contract.

  • Defender Paul Patrick Mboowa signed from SC Villa on a 2 year contract.

  • Winger Brain Majwega on a season long deal from KCCA FC,

  • Striker Mpande Joseph from City Yangon FC on three months loan deal.

  • Winger Charles Ssempa three years deal from relegated Lweza FC.

  • Simon Okwi from Sofapaka on 2 year deal.

  • Siraje Ssentamu midfielder from Vipers SC signed on a 2 year contract.

  • Striker Ahab Abdu Rahuman three years from relegated JMC.

  • Henry Kisekka 6 months deal from Bing Doung FC

  • Star Steven Mpoza midfielder promoted from the Juniour team signed on a 5 years contract.

CONTRACT RENEWALS.

Midfielders Hudu Milikyi and Saidi Kyeyune on three years and two years respectively, Defenders Allan Munaaba, Julius Ntambi and Samuel Sekitto all renewed two years and Peter Lwasa and Ronald Kigongo the strikers have three years each.
