The Uganda rugby XV to play the French Pacific Military XV

The third edition of the France Uganda Friendship week 2019(16th-19th March) has been launched today Monday 25th- February in an inaugural press conference held at the Embassy of France Nakasero Uganda.

The week will climax with a rugby game between Uganda XV and the French Pacific Military XV at Kyadondo Rugby grounds where entrance fee will be shs 10000.

The purpose of this game is to promote sports values with the Olympic Committee in Uganda and the Uganda Rugby Union and the funds collected will help in charity projects for sports facilities in the disadvantaged schools in Uganda.

Speaking to media H.E. Stephanie Rivoal the Ambassador of France to Uganda said he was grateful about the events and thanked the partners who have come up in support of this,

” It is a great honor to have the 3rd edition of the France Uganda Friendship week, we have always given back to the community and promise to also do the same this year.”

” We are so grateful with our partners and we hope to continue working together for the well being of the community so I call upon people to come, join and interact with us.”

The President of the Uganda Rugby Union and a co-organiser of the France- Uganda Friendship week thanked the French community in Uganda,

” We are so grateful with the French community in Uganda and pleased to have this happen it will be of good cause to us as they target putting in place advanced sports facilities in the disavantaged schools.”

Summary of the events in the Uganda- France Friendship week 2019.

– 16th- March-2019 – Francophone day is celebrated around the world and it is dedicated to music and dance shows, art exhibitions and will be free entry at the French school at Lugogo bypass.

-18th – March- 6pm to 10pm free entry at Ndere Cultural Center aimed at promoting sustainable tourism both in Uganda and France through dance performance, paintings, exhibitions and craft makers

19th-March at the French residence with invitations it will be a fashion day and the major objective is to spark Ugandan’s interest for French Fashion and vice versa.A collaborative creative between a French( LISAA) and Ugandan (UCU) will be show cased.

20th- March Defense and Security day ( 6:30 am to 11 am) at the French residence with invitations.Uganda has built a strong military partnership with France and it will be celebrated through a cocktail reception graced by the French Pacific Military XV rugby team.

21- March Gastronomy (6pm to 11pm) at Le Chateau Restaurant with invitations only .

Sports day 22nd March (8am to 12am) at Several Kampala Schools.Mixed teams composed of Ugandan and French players will visit 4 schools ( Nakivubo primary school, Naguru Remand home, Naguru Primary school and Kibuli Police children School aimin at explaining and sharing the values of sport to pupils and make kids enjoy and love rugby.

The week will climax with a great concert performed by Eddy Kenzo, King Saha, Lady Jazmine, Vinka, Beenie Gunter, Fefe Busi, Fik Fameica and the Tabuflo dancers at Kyadondo Rugby grounds at Shs.10000.
