Midfielder Boban Zirintusa Bogere was on target as Mtibwa Sugar held defending champions Simba SC to a one-all draw in the Tanzania Vodacom Premier League on Saturday.

Simba had the first bite on the cherry through Mzamir Yassin whose goal came a minute to the half-time break.

Zirintusa drew the game level with a header from a well delivered free kick two minutes into the second half.

This was Mtibwa Sugar’s second draw of the season following a goalless stalemate with Ruvu Shooting last week.

Zirintusa who is in his second stint at Mtibwa Sugar, scored a total five goals in the 11 games he played after transferring from Busoga United in the mid-season transfer window.

The Tanzania Vodacom Premier League is also a home to Uganda Cranes right back Nicholas Wadada who features for Azam FC.

Goalkeeper Cleo Ssetuba and defender David Zziwa are yet to make their debuts with Biashara United while midfielder Jackson Kibirige plays for Kagera Sugar.

Mtibwa will shift focus to their next game against new comers Ihefu FC who lost their opening game to Simba SC.
