Arthur Ssemazzi’s late header in the 82nd minute off Rashid Kyambadde’s volley salvaged a point for bottom placed Masavu FC against Proline at Bugonga.

Gift Ali had put Proline FC in the lead from a long range shot in the 13th minute beating Salim Wekiya in the Masavu goal. This was Proline’s first goal in as many as 9 league matches.

In the 25th minute Arthur Ssemazzi failed to convert a keeper to beat off a quality cross from James Kasibante.

12 minutes later, Charles Wamala almost scored for Masavu from a goal mouth scramble which they thought it was a goal denied by the referee. Benjamin Nyakoojo attacked the referee in protest and was booked for subsequently.

Midfielder Herbert Kakande was replaced by Ddumba Sadala as Masavu tactician Joseph Mutyaba intended to surge his attacking force. The move finally paid off with 8 minutes from normal time.

At halftime Isaac Owori was withdrawn for Iyasele Odili in a bid to consolidate the one goal cushion.

David Owori and Gift Ali continued to create attempts to break through the Masavu defense but they emerged fruitless.

Ivan Lubaale who replaced Jonathan Katende in the 60th minute put up serious attacks in partnership with skipper Abraham Ndugwa and James Kasibante for the hosts but could not yield any results.

Sula Matovu almost won it late for the visitors in the 88th minute but his shot went few inches wide. He has replaced Gift Ali 2 minutes earlier.

A point has not made any impact for either sides. Masavu is still at the bottom of the log 20 points while Proline is 15th with 20 points courtesy of a superior goal difference.

Masavu will host Soana FC on Wednesday 18th April at Bugonga Fisheries Grounds in their next fixture whereas Proline will play Police FC at home on Friday 20th April 2018.
