Solomon Walusimbi commits future to Maroons Football Club

Forward Solomon Walusimbi has signed a contract extension of two more years with FUFA Big League side Maroons Football Club.

Walusimbi scored four goals and registered four assists in the previous campaign as the Prison Warders got relegated from the Uganda Premier.

He previously played for Bugema Adventist Secondary School, Bugema University and Dembe Arcade FC in the Mitina Arcade Tournament before he joined Maroons FC.

In fact, he was part of the team that guided Maroons FC to a top-flight promotion at the end of the 2016-17 FUFA Big League season.

Walusimbi joins Maxwell Okello, Sylvester Okello, Sydney Chika, Emmanuel Olinga and Yahya Luuti among the players who were rewarded with contract extensions.

Maroons FC have also signed midfielder Nelson Mandela from Busoga United, Luweero United goalkeeper Amir Nalugoda and forward Derrick Mudaali from Kigezi FC while teenage goalkeeper Walter Chandia has been promoted to the senior team.

The 2020-21 FUFA Big League season was tentatively scheduled to kick off on the 29th October 2020.

The Prisons side have so far lost goalkeeper Hannington Sebwalunyo who joined URA FC, Felix Okot( Kyetume FC), Steven Mukwala and Puis Obuya whose next destination remains uncertain.
