Shaban’s strike not enough to win all 3 for KCCA against Onduparaka

Shaban gave KCCA an early lead

By: Erias Kayondo

A win against Onduparaka FC would give KCCA FC an advantage to close the gap on table leaders Sc Villa but the reigning champions were held to a one all draw away in Arua with Viane Sekajugo on target after 75 minutes for the hosts to cancel the Shaban Muhammad early goal.

Muhammad Shaban who was the centre of attraction in this game as it was his first return to Arua since his controversial cross over to KCCA tapped home an Allan Okello assist to give the visitors an early lead with only 8 minutes played.

2 minutes later, defender Timothy Awany brought down Ceasar Okhuti only a few yards away from the goal area but the resultant free-kick taken by Rashid Toha was punched out by Charles Lukwago.

Nsibambi couldn’t find a winner for KCCA

Into the second half, one could easily think there were more green and white shirts in the field than the yellow and blue ones of KCCA.

Ezra Bida came close to levelling up for the home side two minutes into the second half but Lukwago denied his header with a superb reflex high to punch the ball out of play.

After 60 minutes of play, KCCA FC were defending for their lives but a chance for an equalizer still looked possible.

Indeed it was, Viane Sekajugo was the man scoring in the 73rd minute to send the home crowd wild with a leveller.

KCCA FC now goes to 45 points and slips to the 3rd position one point behind Vipers SC who are on 46 points.
