Mbarara City had lost 2-1 on succession to Onduparaka in Mbarara and Kirinya Jinja SSS in Jinja in the previous two games.

The Ankole Lions went ahead in the game through Paul Mucurezi who converted a penalty kick in the 42nd minute to mark his 7th goal of the season.

The lead short-lived for four minutes as Dickens Okwir levelled matters with his fourth goal since completing his 6-month loan move from Vipers.

Paidha Black Angels agonizingly gave in when Semugabi finished off Derrick Onyai’s ball from close range with 15 minutes to normal time.

The result takes the third placed Ankole Lions to 39 points while Paidha Black Angels stay bottom placed with 12 points collected from 22 games.

Paidha Black Angels will play host to URA at the Bar Okoro stadium in their next match on Wednesday 6th March.

Charles Livingstone Mbabazi’s charges will make a trip to Wankulukuku to face Express FC a day earlier.
