Pius Wangi brace inspire resurgent Villa to successive victory

Pius Wangi scored twice in the first stanza to guide SC Villa to their first successive win of the season.

The in form striker scored his first goal as early as the 4th minute after controlling a loose ball to shoot past shot stopper John Kalumba.

13 minutes later, Wangi doubled SC Villa’s lead after controlling a low cross from Charles Lwanga scoring his second of the day.

Dickens Okwir and Yusuf Ssozi created several attacks in the first stanza though were not good enough for a break through.

Returning for the second period, tactician Douglas Bamweyana withdrew Wangi for Joseph Ssemujju as the Blacks introduced Hassan Fatib for Pate Wanok.

Eight minutes into the second half Dickens Okwir scored through a long range shot past goalkeeper Saidi Keni to restore some hope for the visitors.

Paidha Black Angels was forced to replace goal keeper John Kalumba with Benson Orom in the 77th minute when he left the field of play after sustaining a bad injury.

Skipper Jerry Adebu and Yusuf Ssozi continued with the attacks that Ssozi nearly levelled matters but Saidi Keni was good enough to save his side.

John Adriko and Dickens Okwir of SC Villa and Paidha Black Angels respectively were the only players booked.

The victory moves SC Villa to 11th with 21 points and they will play BUL next on Wednesday 20th- February at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.

Paidha Black Angels remain at the bottom of the log with 9 points . They will host fellow relegation candidates Nyamityobora FC on Thursday 21st February at Green Light Stadium Arua.
