Opondo, Shaban and Odongkara recalled as Desabre names squad for Tanzania encounter

Sebastien Desabre has named a provisional squad ahead of Uganda Cranes final AFCON qualifiers games against Tanzania slated for 24th March.

The Frenchman has named 15 foreign based players and 31 players from the StarTimes Uganda Premier, the FUFA Big League and unattached.

The 31 locally based players will be trimmed to only nine after playing against Kampala region in a regional tour match on Saturday 16th March

Among the notable inclusions in Desabre’s squad is goalkeeper Robert Odongkara, Moses Opondo, Shaban Muhammad and Borussia Dortmund’s right back Herbert Bockhorn.

Hassan Wasswa Mawanda and Godfrey Walusimbi who are both unattached to any clubs have also been included.

The final 24 players will fly out to Cairo for a residential camp between 18th to 22nd March before connecting to Tanzania.
