NETBALL : 20 shortlisted for She Cranes training

The Uganda Netball Federation has released 20 Netball players to begin none residential training at MTN Arena, Lugogo and will be under the guidance of Vincent Kiwanuka and Nelson Bogere as they prepare for the 2019 world cup in Liverpool, England.

Twelve will make the final team that will compete in this year’s showpiece that is slated to begin in July.

Vice President administration Netball Federation, William Bwambale during the release of the 20 players at Kati Kati Restaurant said by June they will have built a formidable team.

“We have released the 20 names of Netball players who will start training as we prepare for the netball world cup this year. We believe by June a formidable team of 12 players will be ready to go and participate in the competition.”

Bwambale also confirmed that the Uganda Netball Federation is now fully supported by the Government financially.

Nine of the 20 named players were not part of the She Cranes African triumph in Zambia last year. The team is also expected to have a trial game with Zimbabwe before the residential training in June.

Peace Proscovia ( Australia), Mary Nuba ( England), Oyella Stella ( NIC), Martha Soigi ( NIC), Nanyonga Racheal ( NIC), Eyaru Irene ( KCCA), Meeme Ruth ( NIC), Lunkuse Norah ( KCCA), Atino Susan ( KCCA), Kizza Betty ( NIC), Nanyonga Sylvia( Prison), Achan Jesca ( Prison), Nakibuule Fauzia ( KCCA), Namutebi Hindu ( Police), Akello Irene ( KCCA), Ajip Lilian ( Prison), Nampungu Joan ( NIC), Nalwanja Shaffie ( KCCA), Namuwaya Muhayimuna.
