Kefa Kisala missed the services of suspended workaholic midfielder Badru Nsubuga and budding striker Eric Kambale who was ruled out by a thigh injury.

Kisala will however rue the chances his side failed to put away with Mike Birungi the main guilty party.

Birungi would have registered himself on the score sheet for at least 3 times but unfortunately blasted his chances far from target.

Ibrahim Kayiwa, Tony Odur, Disan Galiwango and Mubarak Nsubuga also came closer to finding that all important goal but couldn’t beat Eric Kibowa in the Ndejje University goal.

Birungi almost broke the duck in the 89th minute after beating Kibowa from close range but his low drive rattled the low post.

A minute earlier, gigantic defender Isaac Mutanga headed home perfectly from a corner kick but his effort was cleared off the line by Kibowa.

Ndejje’s best chances came from counter attacks but were both fluffed by Emmanuel Wasswa and Samuel Matovu.

Express finish the first round in the 7th place on 21 points while Ndejje University remain second from the bottom but with 9 points from 15 outings.
