Mustafa Kizza makes MLS debut as Montreal Impact earn playoff berth

DC United 2-3 Montreal Impact

Ugandan left-back Mustafa Kizza came off the bench to make his debut for Montreal Impact in their 3-2 victory over DC United at the Audi Field in Washington, D.C.

Kizza replaced American midfielder Amar Sejdic in the 71st minute while trailing 2-1.

Four minutes later, Kenya skipper Victor Wanyama found the equalizer for Montreal Impact with a thumping header.

Kizza was involved in the winning goal when he perfectly laid the ball for Mason Toye who set up the scorer Romell Quioto in the 88th minute.

The hard-fought victory ultimately won a playoff berth for the Thierry Henry coached side who finished ninth in the Eastern Conference.

Thierry Henry lauded his charges for showing character during a match they had to rally twice to secure the much-needed victory.

Donovan Pines and Ola Kamara scored for D.C United in the first half while former Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic had equalized in the 13th minute.

Montreal Impact will play New England Revolution in the Eastern Conference play-in round on November 20th.
