Mustafa Kizza has officially been handed shirt number 12 by his new side Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact.
Kizza has previously donned shirt 12 at his former side KCCA FC and at the national team level.
The roving left back joined the Canadian based club in July on a two year contract with an option for an extension.
It was on Thursday this week that Kizza had his first training with Montreal Impact before he was officially handed his favourite jersey number.
Montreal Impact’s shirt number 12 has in the past been reserved by the club in honour of the fans who are regarded as the 12th Man.
The club is coached by former Arsenal, Barcelona and France national team striker Thierry Henry.
Kenya’s national team captain Victor Wanyama is another East African playing for Montreal Impact who joined the club early this season from Tottenham Hotspur in England.
Former Barcelona and Spanish striker Borjan Krkic is another notable player at Montreal Impact.
Uganda Cranes midfielder Mike Azira who now plays for Chicago Fire, was the first ever Ugandan player to play for Montreal Impact but left the club last year.
Montreal Impact plays in the Major League Soccer while based in Canada and will be vying for a place in this season’s playoffs despite a string of poor results.
