The Box HIV out of Uganda campaign sensitization activities of Boxing coaches was held today Wednesday 28th November at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo.

RTD Major. Rubaramira Ruhanga who has lived with the virus for over 33 years has encouraged coaches and Boxers to behave. He also called upon those already infected with HIV virus to live a positive life if they are to succeed.

“We want to move live a better life and so I encourage all Boxing coaches and Boxers to behave well in the society. I also call upon those who have the HIV virus to live a positive life just like me because I have managed to stay this long because of positivity.”

Positive living is all about knowing where you are going, personally I read books about HIV more than even doctors because it starts with me and part of my life to learn about the virus.”

Rubaramira also advised Boxing coaches to go for HIV testing to know their status.

“I humbly call upon those in Boxing to go for HIV testing, it shows responsibility when someone comes to know about his or her health status.” It’s helps those who are already infected with the virus to start drugs early and those negative to always continue using condoms for their safety.” Added the retired soldier.

The sensitization program will commence tomorrow at the same venue to see that the campaign benefits about 90% or more of those involved with Boxing.
