Mbarara City sign budding defender Ronald Otti

Mbarara City made their first signing of the mid-season transfer window after capturing defender Ronald Otti from Buganda regional league (Third tier) side Nangabo Green Valley.

Otti who was meant to sign for the Ankole Lions in the pre-season but couldn’t complete the transfer due to pending paper work, finally put pen to a 3 year contract.

The budding defender comes to bolster the club’s defensive ahead of the second round following a spectacular first half of the season for the Charles Livingstone Mbabazi’s coached team.

Otti joins the central defensive department that has one of the club’s best performers Hillary Mukundane, captain Asuman Alishe, Muhammad Rashid and makeshift Stephen Othieno.

Mbarara City also confirmed the release of left back Hamim Semakula, defensive midfielder Sam Kansiime while Bassey Methodius, Eliezer Okorier, Noah Akanakimana and Ghanaian Paul Emmanuel Darko are the players ready to be sent out on loan.

Striker Karim Ndugwa has been recalled by his parent club Wakiso Giants after serving 6 months on his one year loan spell.

The top bet sponsored outfit is expected to sign 2018 Masaza Cup Most Valuable Player (M.V.P) Ibrahim Owen Kasule Junior after spending one month on trials.

Despite battling relegation last season, Mbarara City is third on the Premier League table with 27 points accumulated from 14 games.
