MATCH PREVIEW : Wounded Express FC visit Kirinya JSS

SINAN RAJUB SENOGA

Kirinya JSS vs Express FC
Sat. 8th December
Mighty Arena, Jinja
Kick off : 4:00pm

Express FC will seek to bounce back to the winning ways when they visit Charles Ayiekoh’s Kirinya Jinja SS on Saturday in Jinja.

Only two points and one place separates the two sides who haven’t won a match in their last two league outings.

Express has of late had a slump down the table to sit 9th with 13 points while Kirinya remains static in the 10th position with 11 points from 9 games.

The Red Eagles succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Onduparaka at their own backyard whilst Kirinya JSS settled for a barren stalemate in Ndejje in the clubs’ respective previous league games.

Kirinya will be aiming for their first home win of the season having only managed 3 draws and a loss in their four home league games this campaign.

The visiting side has won 2 of it’s 4 games on the road, losing once against Mbarara City and drawing the other in Mwererwe.

FORM GUIDE
Kirinya Jinja SS : DDWLD
EXPRESS FC : LDDWW

Both Express and Kirinya have won once in their past four league meetings and managed drawing the other two. Last season Kirinya won 2-0 after drawing 0-0 at Wankulukuku in the first round.

Kefa Kisala will usher hard tackling midfielder Pius Mbidde back to the starting line up having sat out in previous game due to accumulated bookings.

Team captain Julius Ntambi is sidelined after being suspended by the club and his right back position is likely to be taken up by Charles Mutima Musoke.

The league leading goal scorer Joel Madondo is a major doubt for the home side and will have to undergo a late fitness test while first team captains Geoffrey Akol and George Kasonko are ruled out by injury.

Goalkeeper Emmanuel Rubangkene is expected to take up the skipper’s armband once again while Fred Amaku and Nelson Mandela will be key men to look up to.

Tony Odur, Eric Kambale and Michael Birungi will on the opposite end be the inspirational figures. Ibrahim Kayiwa will be facing his former paymasters having played for the Jinja outfit on a 6-month loan spell from Vipers last season.

Victory for Express can spring them to as high as the 5th position while Kirinya JSS can move as far as the 6th place should they clinch their third victory of the season come Saturday.
