Busiro FC have appointed Noah Mugerwa as the new head coach ahead of the 2019 edition of the Airtel Masaza Cup tournament.
Mugerwa was unveiled at Lavander Hotel on Thursday after putting pen on a two-year contract replacing Bright Stars’ Paul Kiwanuka who has been coach for the previous editions.
The flamboyant coach has previously worked at Buddu, Busujju, Welden School and Blessed Sacrament Kimanya SS.
Mugerwa also doubles as the head coach of the Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi in the University Football League.
His immediate task will be guiding Busiro to their maiden triumph. Busiro have never won the Masaza Cup since the inception in 2004.
Last year, Mugerwa guided Busujju to a third place finish after defeating Buwekula 1-0 at Namboole.
Record holders Gomba under the leadership of Mansoor Kabugo have also announced the appointment of Turkish tactician Omer Selli as their new head coach.
Omer Selli is a CAF C holder having attained his coaching education in Uganda in 2016.
Ssingo are the defending champions of the Masaza Cup having edged rivals Buddu on penalties in last year’s edition at Namboole.
This year’s edition will kick off in June.
