Express FC needed an 85th minute penalty conversion by Tony Odur to salvage a 1-all draw against Maroons at Wankulukuku.

Odur’s goal cancelled out Solomon Walusimbi’s strike which came moments into the second period.

Walusimbi capitalized on a howler by Express custodian Mathias Muwanga who mishandled the ball to grant the Prison Warders the lead in the 55th minute.

George Ssemwogerere brought on Brian Umony for Mubarak Nsubuga to surge for a leveller and it was a change that made the difference for the home side.

Umony was brought down by Sylvester Okello inside the box and referee Rajab Bakasambe pointed to the spot.

Odur flawlessly beat the trying Emmanuel Akol gloves from 12 yards to level the scores.

Maroons now sit 13th with 19 points whereas Express are now 9th with 25 points from 20 games.

Express will play against Ndejje University in their subsequent fixture on Tuesday 26th February while Maroons will host Paidha Black Angels on the same day.
