Uganda Premier League side Kyetume Football Club have agreed terms with goalkeeper Joseph Yiga.
Yiga last featured for UPDF Football Club in the previous FUFA Big League season, a side he joined in January 2018.
He is expected to provide healthy competition with the club’s first-choice goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa and new acquisition Emmanuel Were Derrick.
Yiga has previously featured for Super Cubs, Mutundwe Lions, Hearts FC, Ngendo Diamonds in the lower divisions among others. Isabeti (Beach Soccer Club), Gomba and Ssingo Ssaza (Masaza Cup) are some of the other teams he has played for.
He is also a product of the University League after featuring for Nkumba University.
Kyetume have already signed Joshua Kigozi (Luweero United), Richard Matovu (BUL FC), Felix Okot (Maroons FC), Were Derrick (Kiyinda Boys), Ezra Bida (Onduparaka), Steven Kabuye (Mbarara City), Nicholas Kasozi (KCCA), Musitafa Mujuzi (On loan from Proline FC), Raymond Walugembe (Buwambo United), Henry Orom Bishop (Synergy) as well as Muhammad Rashid (Onduparaka FC).
In their maiden UPL season, The Slaughters finished 11th with 29 points when the league was abruptly ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020-21 Uganda Premier League season is expected to kick off in November.
