Influential SC Villa duo to sign new contracts

Amir Zaake Kakomo and David Owori Colgate are on the brink of extending their employment contracts at SC Villa.

Swift Sports understands that the long running saga surrounding both player’s future at the club is set to be resolved and are to extend their stay with the Uganda Premier league record champions for another two years.

Rwanda based side Sunrise were interested in Kakomo’s signature.

Last season, Kakomo was a key figure in SC Villa’s midfield playing 21 of the 25 league games

Before joining the record league champions, he had had a stint at KCCA FC but the deal never materialized.

He has also previously turned out for Namasuba Juventus before joining Kiboga Young.
The midfielder also featured for Ssingo, Buwekula and Gomba in Masaza Cup tournament

Kakomo was part and parcel of the Uganda Martyrs University team that won the University Football League.

Owori was also instrumental for Villa last season scoring three goals and managed four assists from the 23 league games he played for the Edward Kaziba coached side.

The former Vipers SC utility player joined Villa in 2018 following a successful loan spell at Proline.

The duo will join goalkeeper Said Keni who extended his stay at club by penning a new two year contract.

Villa finished third place finish in the concluded 2019/20 UPL season with 46 points.
