The neck to neck race for the two coveted play off places in the Elizabeth group continued on Sunday with Uganda Martyrs Lubaga stunning Olila High School WFC 1-0 in Soroti.

Prossy Nalwoga scored the all important goal that sent the Lubaga side second on the Elizabeth group table.

The Lubaga school side has now garnered 22 points from 12 games having played a game more than any other team.

Uganda Martyrs came into the weekend with 16 points before registering vital 1-0 away victories against Lango Queens on Friday and Olila two days later.

Defeat sends Olila to fourth place from the second with 21 points while Kampala Queens sit third courtesy of a superior goal difference.

Pacesetters UCU Lady Cardinals received a walk over after their opponents Town View SS from Bugiri failed to turn up at Mukono.

Three games were played in the Victoria group with Asubo Gafford Ladies the only side able to register a win.

Anita Nabirye scored the only goal in the 50th minute as Asubo-Gafford defeated Riness SS in a relegation affair played at Kanyanya.

Victory which was Asubo-Gafford’s first in seven games ensured the struggling Kanyanya outfit move out of the relegation zone at the expense of their opponents with 11 points.

She Corporates and Lady Doves maintained their third and second places on the table respectively after playing to a barren draw at Nakawa.

Lowly placed side Dynamic SS Jjeza rallied from behind to hold Ajax Queens in a six goal thriller at Buddo SS.

Goals from Mary Pira, skipper Phiona Nabbumba and Maureen Afoyo had given Ajax Queens a comfortable lead but the league debutants fought back through Sarah Babirye, Mary Nankya and Daphine Nalubowa.

This was the second point of the season for Dynamic SS having held She Corporates to a goalless draw at MUBS Arena in the first round.

Only defending Kawempe Muslim have so far booked a berth in the playoffs as we head to the final three games of the regular season.

The FUFA Women Elite League will resume on Saturday 20th April with one game on card. Isra Soccer Academy will host debutants Lango Queens at the Kawempe Muslim valley playground.
