FUTSAL: Yeak Kabowa thrash Typhoon as Park, Crown and Parakeets falter

Yeak Kabowa extended their lead on the top of the Futsal Super League table to four points after drubbing Typhoon 8-3 in one of the six games played at Mengo, Kisenyi.

To achieve the four point lead, Yeak Kabowa had all it’s closest rivals lose their respective games on the night that is Park, Crown and Parakeets.

Avemah Shaffic was the player in the limelight after scoring 6 goals for the Yeak Kabowa team and subsequently took up the number one position as far as the goal scoring chats are concerned.

Avemah who took his season tally to 24 goals, had his wonderful exploits supplemented by an Enock Ssebagala brace to ensure an 8-3 victory.

On the opposite end, Senyange Allan, Maawiya Abdullah and Oyirwoth Goffin scored for the Typhoon team which are also christened as the “White walkers”.

Yeak Kabowa are now on 24 points, 4 clear of second and third placed Crown and Parakeets who are tied on 22 points while Park sit fourth with 21 points.

Crown lost 4-3 to league debutants Aidenal School of Art in one of the early kick offs of the day. Abdirashid Adan Jama and Mohad Mohamud Salah (brace) scored Crown’s three goals of the match.

Aidenal clinched their emphatic third victory of the season through goals from Oyalo Fabian who scored twice, Kujooga Fred and Kaggwa Moses Mawa.

Parakeets succumbed to a second successive embarrassing loss at Mengo City thanks to goals from Bwanika Charles Mary, Makanga Ismail Dembere and Oketch Vasco.

Goals from Babu Iddi and Kyozaala Ginora Ivan were not enough for Park to at least pick a point against Nomad in the first game played on the day.

A brace from Abdinasir Ali Ahmed and a goal from Abdifitaah Ahmed Omar were enough to ensure a 3-2 win for the Nomad side who now sit fifth on the log with 20 points garnered from 11 outings.

In other games played, Last year’s Most Valuable Player (M.V.P) Jamil Kalisa scored a hat trick as the defending champions Dream edged Equator 3-2. Dream are now 6th with 19 points accumulated from 11 games.

Bajim and Kabowa United played to a thrilling 4-4 draw in the late kick off. Ssebunya Tony who struck thrice and Ssematiba Titus were the scorers of Bajim while Kateregga Bashir (brace), Ssempijja Mukasa Ronald and Mugerwa Mahad did the same for Kabowa United.

The Futsal Super League will take a break next week to give room for the second edition of the Futsal Uganda Cup on the Thursday 31st January.
