FUTSAL: Wins for Yeak Kabowa and Park as Dream falter

Yeak Kabowa maintained their five point lead on the top of the table as the Futsal Super League resumed on Thursday at Mengo, Kisenyi.

The free scoring table leaders picked a snatchy 3-2 victory over lowly side Elephants to clinch the 35 points mark.

Emma Magembe, Robert Bakka and the leading scorer Shafik Avemah (26 goals) scored for Yeak Kabowa while Bruno Segirinya and Kitomera Jonathan managed a goal a piece for the Elephants.

Second placed Park have a chance to cut the five point gap when they take on Yeak Kabowa next Thursday.

Park were once again inspired by their skipper Iddi Babu to a 3-2 win over Parakeets in one of the 8:00pm kick offs.

Babu extended his season tally to 20 goals after scoring a brace while Kisenyi Mark scored the other. Abigaba Joseph Vicent and Byaruhanga Baker were on target for the Parakeets.

Defending champions Dream failed to maintain their winning streak after playing to a 2-2 draw with Crown. John Kitanda and Kazibwe Swahib scored for the holders while Crown’s Abdfatah Ahmed Mohamud grabbed a brace on the opposite end.

Dream remain third on the table with 26 points while Crown maintained their stay in the 6th position with 23 points after 14 games.

Nomad overcame Mengo City 2-1 thanks to Sayid Ali Abdisalam Hassan and Abdifitaah Ahmed Omar. Sempijja Emmanuel found the lone goal for Mengo City who sit 10th on the log with 16 points.

Typhoon raised from their ruins with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Yap Stars. Mato Roger, Umar Ssebuliba and Nyanzi Allan (brace) were all on target for the white walkers.

Bajim recorded the biggest win on the day, a 5-1 over debutants Aidenal School of Art thanks to Kamya Ibrahim’s hat trick and a double from Titus Sematimba.

Equator edged Kabowa United 2-1 thanks to Adam Adan and Dahir Ahmed Abdihamid to move to the 9th place on 17 points.

Yeak Kabowa’s duo of Shafik Avemah and Enock Ssebagala lead the scorers table with 26 goals and 21 goals respectively whereas Park’s Iddi Babu comes closer with 20.
