FUFA confirms new kick off date for the UPL season 2020/2021

The new Uganda premier league season will commence on the 20th of November 2020 as opposed to the earlier communicated 17th of October 2020.

In that regard, the licensing exercise has also been extended to the 15th of October to enable the process of planning and release of fixtures by Tuesday October 20th 2020.

Player registration has been elongated by 4 weeks to the 19th of October.

The letter signed by deputy CEO Decolas Kiiza further put paid to all hope for completion of the Uganda Cup but it declined to expound on the fate of the winners and sponsorship awardees.

” There will be no further action of Stanbic Uganda cup 46th edition. FUFA and the sponsor will soon announce the sponsorship details”



The statement read.

It’s noteworthy that the federation had earlier on allocated the CAF Confederation cup slot to KCCA FC as Uganda’s representative in the tournament. The Uganda cup is the main avenue for qualification to the same.

A winner would not be determined due to the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic that put a halt to an entirety of the world’s major social and economic activities.
