Farouk Yawe heroics send Luweero United to final promotion hurdle

Luweero United Football Club edged Buwambo United 4-2 in spot kicks after a full-time barren draw in the Buganda regional league championship to emerge champions.

Buwambo United will have Bernado Kateregga to blame for missing a glorious chance to score from the spot in the 40th minute only to be saved by goalkeeper Farouk Yawe.

Joseph Nkabirwa, Joshua Kigozi, Ivan Nambaffu and Taddeo Ddumba all scored from the spot for Luweero United.

Saul Ntambazi and William Kinene converted for Buwambo United while Alex Kiyaga and experienced Ronald Ssekubomba missing out.

Luweero United will now face the winner between Catda Football and Edgar’s Youth where the winner will automatically make it to the FUFA Big League.
