EXPRESS FC 5-3 POLICE: Ssemwogerere handed first home win of the season

Another end to end encounter between Express FC and Police has ended in favour of Express FC at Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku.

Abdallah Mubiru’s men were handed a huge early blow when goal keeper Hilary Jomi got substituted through injury.

Jomi was replaced by an off colour Alfred Ginyera, whose introduction opened the floodgates of the evening.

Express’ first attempt after his introduction resulted into goal in the 21st minute when he poorly felt with Disan Galiwango’s weak shot at goal.

Oyamo Timothy sent a dinking header from Arafat Galiwango’s cross to set affairs to equal terms.

Youngster Frank Senyondo restored Express’ lead in the 31st minute.

10 minutes to the break, Frank Kalanda also registered his name onto the score sheet when he caught Henry Katongole and co flat footed to double Express’ lead.

In the additional minutes of the first period, Police were handed an opportunity to reduce the deficit and Ben Ocen made no mistake but to send Kyamera the wrong way.

On resumption, Police tried resuscitate their fortunes but they forgot to guard their back and were made to pay dearly by Frank Kalanda again in the 78th minute.

Moments later, Ben Ocen again reduced the goal margin with a sumptuous strike after dribbling through the entire Express defence.

With the pressure mounting on the home team, substitute Ivan Ocholit connected a well delivered Galiwango’s cross to seal all three points for Express FC.

Express leap to 9th on the log with 7 points, whereas Police remain in 15 with 2 points.
