Despite making only two appearances in the just concluded premier league season, budding youngster Eric Dhaira insists that all is not lost and greater times lie ahead.

The younger brother to Cranes fallen hero  Abel Dhaira signed for Maroons at the beginning of the 2017/18 season with high hopes but an unfortunate injury and the good form of Ashadu Bugembe saw him restricted to the bench.

He has however not lost hope and he believes that, the coming season is his.

He says,

“I am still focused and next season I will work hard for a starting place next season. The good thing head coach Asaph Mwebaze has belief in me and next season i strongly have hope that I will have much playing time.”

Dhaira asserts that lack of playing time last season as been due to brilliant performances from Ashadu Bugembe and the injury he sustained against Kirinya affected him.

“I have not had much playing time in the just concluded season due to the tremendous performances of first choice goalkeeper Ashadu Bugembe. He had a great season and so it was to be difficult for me to earn a starting place. The injury i sustained against Kirinya also took me a step backwards but next season I do believe i will perform.”

Eric Dhaira was named in goal during Maroons goalless draw at Soana on the final day of the AUPL season, in the same game he saved a penalty.

Dhaira is expected to fill the void of Ashadu Bugembe who is set to leave the Luzira outfit side following expiration of his one year contract at the club.
