CAF CONFEDERATION CUP: Ndugga’s Orapa United earn first leg advantage over AS Kigali

Midfielder Lawrence Ndugga came in as second half substitute as his Botswana side Orapa United FC defeated AS Kigali 2-1 in Botswana.

Ndugga who replaced Allen Ndodole has his hopes high as he believes they will get a positive result in the return leg fixture and make it to the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup,

“It was a good game for us and thank God we managed to move away with a positive result in the first leg.”

“We are very positive and I believe we shall fight hard in the return leg in Rwanda so that we can make it to the next level.”

The midfielder who is just recovering from an injury he sustained when his side was playing the Botswana U-20 national team has higher hopes,

“After the return leg the overall winner will be facing KCCA FC, my prayer is getting positive results in the return leg and I can not wait to play against my fellow countrymen.”

Gafone Mabaya and Elias Mbatshi scored for Orapa United while Abubakar Lawal found the consolation for AS Kigali.

Orapa United will leave Botswana on Tuesday 1st December for Kigali for the return leg on Sunday 6th December.

The overall winner will play against Uganda’s KCCA FC who received a bye and will only start the CAF Confederation Cup campaign on the first round.
