This is the third time Vipers are appearing in the CAF Champions League having featured in 2016 and 2018 but lost to Enyimba FC (Nigeria) and CS Constantine (Algeria) respectively.
In 2018, Vipers were drawn Sudanese opposition El Merriekh in the preliminary round and emerged victorious courtesy of the away goals rule after a 2-2 draw
Vipers will be targeting a place in the lucrative group stages under the tutelage of coach Fred Kajoba.
