Bulega in dream land over the Crested Cranes’ semifinal qualification

The Crested Crested Cranes cruised past favourites Zimbabwe in astonishing fashion and consequently topped group C securing them a date with hosts and hot favourites South Africa.

They came into the game needing nothing less than victory to advance and Juliet Nalukenge alongside Tracy Jones Akiror provided exactly what was required.

Head coach Faridah Bulega who also exhibited great game reading and situational management couldn’t hide her delight when she faced the cameras to react on the game.

She said,

“We are very happy for having won this game, and topped the table with 7 points. We have managed to achieve one of our ambitions by qualifying for the Semi finals.

“We are now going to engage with the best teams that are going to Afcon finals, we learn from them and polish ourselves when we return. The team is so happy for having won against Zimbabwe.”

She added,

“I thank all your Ugandans for their support and prayers. Most especially Ugandans based in South Africa.”

The Crested Cranes have been the first team to book the Semi final slot in the 2018 COSAFA Women’s Championship.

The guest nation will return to action on Thursday 20th September against the hosts Banyana Banyana of South Africa.
