Crested Cranes suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Kenya in the first leg of the AWCON Qualifiers 2018 at Machakos Stadium, thanks to a Lillian Adera lone strike.
Despite defeat Crested Cranes head coach Faridah Bulega was delighted with the performance of her players and remains optimistic of a great result in the return leg.
“I am happy with the result basing on how Kenya has been humiliating us during the previous encounters. We are to correct our mistakes before the return leg and I promise my country that we shall fight and get the needed result on Sunday at StarTimes Stadium.”
The Crested tactician also hailed her side’s team work and commitment.
“I liked the team work and commitment from my players and this helped us not to concede many goals as Kenya expected. Personally I appreciate them since this is a young team and I believe they have put up a great display.”
Crested Cranes arrived safely and have camped at FUFA technical center Njeru as they prepare for the second leg that is slated for Sunday 8th April 2018 at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
