It’s official that Buganda Province will host the first leg of the two legged final of the inaugural FUFA Drum tournament against West Nile.
The development was confirmed on Wednesday morning through a draw held in the FUFA weekly press conference at Mengo.
The first leg will be played at the Bishops grounds in Mukono on Sunday 30th September whereas the return leg has been slated for Sunday 6th October in Arua.
Representing team Buganda, forward Rajab Jooga was very contented with the draw proceedings;
” We have in the previous games been starting at home and end our journey on road. We know what exactly to do to emerge victorious.”
” We started the tournament on a staggering note but we gradually gained momentum and here we are, we have a final to play for. I call upon all our fans to come in big numbers during our game at Mukono Bishops.”
The FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo echoed the significance of the final games between the two sides.
” I wish both Buganda and West Nile know what it means to win a tournament for the first time. They will always talk about the first winner.”
Magogo hailed the tournament for bringing to light prestigious statistics as far as the fans and numbers are concerned.
” Because of the FUFA Drum tournament, we have known Gulu, Fort Portal and West Nile as hubs for the highest number of football fans and this will help us as FUFA in our planning.”
” I call upon fans from Buganda and West Nile to rally behind their respective Provinces.”
The FUFA Drum was inaugurated in February this year with the major aim of celebrating ancestry in respective regions in the country as well as bringing football to the masses.
Buganda edged Bukedi in Paliisa while West Nile edged Busoga in Jinja in the semi finals courtesy of epic penalty shootouts.
