Dominican fighter Javier Fortuna defeated Ugandan Sharif Bogere on points in a 10 round bout of the lightweight matchup at Carson, California.
The fight that served as one of the many under cards for the Gervonta Davis vs Hugo Ruiz main event and billed up to its expectations.
Fortuna won on unanimous scores of 96-93 from all the three judges. Bogere who is known for his aggressive fighting style took advantage in the opening five rounds, winning three of them.
Fortuna (34-2-1, 23KO) came back explosively strong in the final rounds of the matchup to claim victory handing the Ugandan his 2nd career loss at professional level.
The Dominican is now optimistic and ready to take on two of the top lightweight fighters currently Gervonta Davis who won his fight easily on the night with a first round knock out or Vasiliy Lomanchenko.
The Bogere ( 32-2, 20KO) is expected to return to his ultimate best since is currently under Mayweather Promotions and trained by legendary Kenny Adams. The Lion Warrior has defeated top Pugilists like Francisco Contreras, Julian Rodriguez, Sergio Rivera, Manuel Leyva and Richar Abril but this time he couldn’t overcome the Dominican fighter.
